Pottery Manufacture

This is a manufacturing pottery established on the Isle of Skye since 1987 and now in new premises at Armadale.

We manufacture at two sites on the Sleat peninsula including at our shop near the Armadale-Mallaig ferry port (see Directions) where you can see us hard at work throwing on the potters wheel, slip casting, decorating and glazing. Click here for details of video presentations)

We produce two main ranges of pottery: Studio Pottery made from both earthenware and stoneware; and our main range of Crystal Glazed Earthenware which includes over 46 different items.

Also produced are a wide range of thrown bowls and platters in a variety of shapes and sizes.

It should be noted that all items which are likely to be subjected to heat during normal use are made from vitrified earthenware for additional strength and resistance to thermal shock and therefore are able to be used day to day in the home. Such items include plates, teapots, cups, mugs and soup bowls.

All vitrified earthenware can be microwaved but it is advised that no Crystal Glazed items be cleaned in a dishwasher as the aggressive detergents used will cause the glaze to degrade.
